Tanager Take-Out and the Weekend BackPack Program are available to households with students enrolled in the Vermillion School District.
Households may register for either Tanager Take-Out or Weekend BackPack Program.
Vermillion Tanager Take-Out
Founded in 2016, Tanager Take-Out provides cost-free food to families with students ages 3-18 years who are currently enrolled in the Vermillion School District.
Tanager Take-Out takes place Wednesdays from 4:45-6:30 pm in the Vermillion Food Pantry, which is located in the Community Connection Center at 9 Court Street in downtown Vermillion, South Dakota.

Weekend BackPack Program
The Vermillion BackPack Program partners with the Vermillion School District to provide light meals and snacks to students for the weekend. Students who are registered for the BackPack Program receive a bag of fresh fruit and other items in their classrooms before they leave school each Friday (or the day before a holiday). You may register at any time.
